Job Overview
As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will care for patients in a ward or clinical department. You will assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care. You will work closely with other nurses doctors and allied health professionals to provide safe and effective care. You will report to a senior nurse or nursing manager who will guide your work and help you grow professionally.
The work environment is fast-paced and rewarding you’ll work shifts including nights or weekends depending on rota and you’ll need to adapt to changing patient needs. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team that values patient safety evidence based practice and continuous improvement.
Main Duties of the Job

Carry out nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans

Monitor and record patients vital signs and health status

Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocol

Support patients with personal care

Assist in clinical procedures

Respond to emergencies and escalate when needed

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Communicate with patients families and colleagues to coordinate care

Promote health education and support for patients recovery and well being

Follow infection control and safety standards at all times

Supervise and mentor junior staff nursing students or healthcare assistants when required

Participate in team meetings audits and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications Experienc and Skills
1. Qualifications and Experience

Registered Nurse qualification degree or diploma
-
Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC
-
Previous nursing experience ward or clinical experience preferred

Evidence of continuing professional development
2. Knowledge and Skills

Strong clinical skills administering medications wound care vital observations

Good understanding of nursing procedures policies and protocols

Ability to use clinical IT systems and maintain accurate records

Knowledge of infection prevention patient safety and risk management practices

Effective communication skills with patients families and team
